Bojan Pajtic has been re-elected Vojvodina’s first minister for another four-year mandate. The new speaker of Vojvodina assembly is Sandor Egeresi from the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians. Pajtic, who is also a Democratic Party (DS) vice president, was re-elected first minister after receiving the backing of 86 of the Vojvodina assembly’s 120 councilors. He said that the provincial government’s main goals would be improving the economy, cutting employment, increasing capital investments, and making effective healthcare available to all. Pajtic said that the new Vojvodina government would affirm the province’s position, enhance its autonomy, and manage its own money and property. He also said that the government would work on the development of local self-government and on establishing Vojvodina as a developed European region. Councilors discussed Pajtic’s statement, as well as his proposal to increase the number of secretariats in the Vojvodina Executive Council to 17. Under the proposal, the vice president and secretary for information would be Ana Tomanova Makanova from the DS, while the vice president and provincial secretary for the economy would be Istvan Pastor from the Alliance of Vojvodina’s Hungarians (SVM). The vice president and the secretary for local government would be Jan Sabo from G17 Plus. Another vice president would be Dusan Jakovljev from the League of Vojvodina Social Democrats (LSV). The agriculture secretary would be Danijel Petrovic from the LSV, Zoltan Jeges (SVM) would be responsible for education, Milorad Djuric (DS) would be secretary for culture, Atila Cengeri (DS) for health care, while the secretary for management and minorities would be Tamas Korhec (SVM). Jadranka Beljan – Balaban (G17 Plus) would be the new secretary for regional and international cooperation; Novka Mojic (DS)for demographics and family care; Dusanka Sremacki (DS) for architecture; Dragoslav Petrovic (SPS) for science and technology, and Radoslav Strinkovic (SPS) would be the secretary for the energy sector. The sports secretary would be Modest Dulic (DS), the employment secretary would be Miroslav Vasin, while Slobodan Puzovic (DS) would be in charge of ecology. Addressing the assembly, the first minister said he was satisfied with the work thus far of the Vojvodina Executive Council, adding that the citizens had supported this work at the elections.
