Almost all the newspapers today lead with the Karadzic arrest stories and bring his file photos on the front pages. ALO—"Radovan's arrest ordered", says this tabloid as it, along with the rest of the printed media today, speculates on the exact time, place and circumstances of the former Bosnian Serb leader's arrest. Press: Karadzic is in custody "Daca's arm accepts grafted skin", is about the recovery of water polo player Danilo Ikodinovic, seriously injured in a traffic accident. BLIC—"Radovan Karadzic arrested", is the headline that dominates on this front page. The local Belgrade scene is reported under, "SPS accepts cooperation with LDP". BORBA—This paper had the bad fortune of going to the presses before the big news broke last night, so it leads with, "Tired of no work", which is a report from the parliament yesterday adjourned for two weeks, and, "UNMIK in new clothes", about the international civilian presence in Kosovo. VECERNJE NOVOSTI—"Karadzic arrested", the paper says, along with a photo of the Hague indictee. GAZETA—"Radovan falls", the tabloid announces. "First fight!", is the headline to an article that claims the new interior minister, Ivica Dacic, and President Boris Tadic had a fall out over the idea to return some of the ambassadors recalled over Kosovo recognitions. GLAS JAVNOSTI—"Radovan falls too", "Serbia and RS in shock", are the stories on the front page. DANAS—"Radovan Karadzic arrested", this daily also informs. It then announces a visit from Chief Hague Prosecutor Serge Brammertz, that has in the meantime been canceled: "Leads on Mladic's new helpers". KURIR—"Radovan arrested", the tabloid says in a huge headline on the front page. POLITIKA—Serbian newspaper readers would be hard pressed to tell one daily from another today looking at the main headlines on the front pages: "Radovan Karadzic arrested", says the broadsheet. "MPs on forced vacation", is a repot from parliament yesterday. "Communication or capitulation", explores the announced return of Serbia's ambassadors to those EU countries that have recognized Kosovo Albanians' unilateral independence declaration. PRESS—The tabloid has the same lead headline as most other papers: "Radovan Karadzic arrested". (FoNet)
