BUDVA Interior ministers of Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Montenegro have signed a protocol on establishment of a joint police cooperation center. The protocol was signed by Serbia’s Interior Minister Ivica Dacic, Bosnian Minister of Security Fahrudin Radoncic and Minister of Internal Affairs of Montenegro Rasko Konjevic in the Montenegrin coastal town of Budva on Friday. Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro set up police cooperation center This document stipulates that the headquarters for the joint law enforcement cooperation center are to be located in Trebinje. “We have a lot of joint interests – fighting organized crime, curbing illegal migration, combating human trafficking,” Dacic said, indicating that the joint center will contribute to the improvement of police cooperation between the three countries. Dacic said that, when it comes to the Serbian Interior Ministry, there is no obstacle to cooperation with other interior ministries in the region. “There are no ‘our’ and ‘others'’ criminal groups, because these groups are made up of citizens of almost all the countries in the region, and they cause damage to all of us together,” the Serbian minister said. He pointed out that many of the criminal groups’ members hold citizenships of more than one country in the region, which had previously hindered effective control of their illegal activities. Dacic said that after a long time, the police services in the region now have good cooperation and we expect that it will lead to solving many of the so far unsolved murder cases. Konjevic said that the signing of the protocol will contribute to the exchange of operational information to combat cross-border crime. “This is something that we will all benefit from,” he said. Radoncic pointed out that the joint center in Trebinje will help improve results in the fight against cross-border crime and preventing illegal migration. The trilateral meeting was held as part of a ministerial EU-Western Balkans forum for the fields of justice and internal affairs. Tanjug
