Islamic Community in Serbia Chief Mufti and presidential candidate Muamer Zukorlic says poor programs of other candidates give him the advantage. “When you have bad competition it is not difficult to be good,” he said. Mufti says he has “better program than other candidates” “My program has several layers, it contains issues that concern Bosniaks in Sandzak but also Albanians in the Presevo Valley, Roma, minorities in Vojvodina. I am offering a way to solve the open issues as an unconventional president,” the mufti told B92. He warned of a downfall of moral and family values in our society. When asked whether he could expect to get support of the Serbian people after he said that Bosniaks had suffered 11 genocides, since he advocates autonomy of Sandzak and openly talks about discrimination against Bosniaks, Zukorlic replied: “I have never accused the Serbian citizens of committing genocide against Bosniaks. I only said how many genocides against Bosniaks there were. And I have never accused the state of discriminating against Bosniaks, but the regime instead,” he explained. According to him, Sandzak’s autonomy would be a factor of regional stabilization. He said that he did not intend and had no reason to support Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) leader Tomislav Nikolic in the runoff. The mufti stressed that he especially had no reason to support Democratic Party (DS) leader Boris Tadic since his “policy toward Bosniaks is bad”. When asked about his stance on Kosovo, Zukorlic said that he could not carry the burden of what had happened in Kosovo but that he would represent the state’s interests in accordance with the Constitution and offer his own program that would solve the issue.
