Explosive device found in northern K. Mitrovica
KOSOVSKA MITROVICA -- A bomb was found in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica late on Sunday evening, which was destroyed in a controlled explosion on Monday morning.
Regional Chief of Operations with the Kosovo Police Service (KPS) Željko Bojić told Tanjug that the explosive device was detected in the vicinity of the Telekom Serbia building in Kosovska Mitrovica on Sunday evening.
It was then disposed of in a controlled blast early on Monday.
Citizens reported the case to the police, after which the KPS secured the area, and KFOR members destroyed the explosive device, most likely a hand grenade, Bojić added.
This is not the first time that a bomb has been planted in this part of Mitrovica in the neighborhood of Bosniak (Bošnjačka) Mahala.
Previously, on September 20, the bomb was thrown at a ruined house, which caused minor material damage.
