BELGRADE Democratic Party (DS) deputy leader Bojan Pajtic has rejected a possibility that the Democratic Party (DS) will break up. He noted that he would accept the position of a party leader if was offered to him. “Democratic Party won’t break up” “I think we are fully aware that we do not need rifts in the party. Not only that we will not break up but we are aware of the situation Serbia is in and we do not need any disintegration,” Pajtic told daily Vecernje novosti. According to him, this is why the party will accept DS leader Boris Tadic’s proposals to define the DS as a social-democratic party, give the Presidency higher authority, prevent revanchism and name Natasa Vuckovic and Goran Ciric deputy leaders. When asked whether it was possible that some other top DS official would decide to run for a party leader at the last moment, Pajtic said that it was not realistic. Tadic said on Thursday that he would make his final decision whether he would run for the DS leader on November 4. The DS has decided to postpone the party elections for November 25.
