Serbian Interior Minister Ivica Dacic laid a wreath on Sunday at the memorial plate in Belgrade honoring Serbia's first interior minister Jakov Nenadovic. Serbian Interior Ministry (MUP) is celebrating its day on June 12. Police Day marked in Serbia Earlier on Sunday, the interior minister delivered 25 medals for diligent service of the first and the second order to MUP members. The central celebration of the Day of the Serbian MUP and the Day of the Serbian Police would be held in the MUP Educational Centre in Makis, near Belgrade. The Serbian MUP Day and the Serbian Police Day are celebrated in the memory of the year of 1862, when the Serbian gendarmerie played the crucial role in the conflicts at Belgrade's Cukur Cesma on June 15 and over the next two days, during the Turkish bombing of Belgrade.
