The Serbian Customs Administration internal control team is constantly monitoring the work of their employees, it has been announced. "At present there are no clues that Serbian customs officials were in any way involved in the affair that ended in the arrest of a number of customs officers and policemen in Romania," the Serbian Customs Administration said on Thursday. According to latest reports, following the Wednesday mass arrest when authorities interrogated over 150 people, a total of 86 policemen and customs officers were remanded in detention on suspicion that they took bribes in exchange for turning a blind eye to cigarette-smuggling activities.
