RS PM Milorad Dodik says that Russian recognition of S. Ossetia and Abkhazia independence creates a new political reality. The Kosovo issue has contributed to this new reality on the international political scene, Dodik said. Dodik: New political reality "Obviously, the issue of Kosovo and its independence has been a trigger for many other similar situations,” Dodik told journalists in Banja Luka, adding that there was a substantial connection between Kosovo, Abkhazia and South Ossetia. He said that the world, which was functioning on the basis of international law, had been significantly jeopardized by the unilateral recognition of Kosovo’s independence, and that now, it was entering a new phase in relations. "There are many places where central and provincial authorities are in dispute,” Dodik said, adding that those places could try to apply similar measures, as was the case in Georgia. The Republic of Srpska (RS) prime minister stressed that the RS had no international subjectivity, and could not, therefore, recognize South Ossetia or Abkhazia’s independence, and that that was for the Bosnia-Herzegovina authorities to decide. "We respect the Dayton Accords, and our position is irreversible in that respect. The way Bosnia-Herzegovina addresses this issue is its own affair, but as far as we’re concerned, our position is clear, as it is where Kosovo’s concerned,” Dodik underlined.
