Exports of Russian gas to Europe "to continue to rise"

"Russian gas accounted for 30 percent of the total quantity of gas in the European markets last year, and estimates are that demand for it will continue to grow," Miller told a panel on the future of the European energy sector at the International Business Congress, over which he presides.

In the first five months of the current year, supplies of gas from the Russian energy company Gazprom to Europe increased five percent against 2014, Miller said.

Speaking about pipelines, Miller stressed the importance of Nord Stream, and when it comes to TAP, which should be export gas from Azerbaijan to Europe, Miller pointed out that deadlines for starting construction works on the pipeline were constantly being extended.

Other projects for gas deliveries are not competitive to the Gazprom's projects, which the company plans to and will realize, Miller said.
