TASS is reporting that 63 members of the crew have been rescued, all suffering from hypothermia due to exposure to icy water.

A regional marine traffic coordinator said that the ship had a crew comprised of 78 Russians and "at least" 40 citizens of Myanmar.

There were also citizens of Ukraine, Lithuania, and Vanuatu working on the ship.

The cause of the accident has not yet been determined, but the Russian media say it is possible the vessel collided with floating icebergs.

1,500 people are taking part in the rescue operation, among them 26 fishing boats, the regional office of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations said.
