Bauc jumped from a 20-meter high bridge and briefly surfaced from the water, but then disappeared.

Rescuers in boat are seen quickly approaching the site, but were unable to find the victim.

The Mali Zvornik municipality was in charge of organizing and financing rescue teams, and they hired "licensed divers and rescuers" from Belgrade, the Zvornik municipality said.

"The organizers undertook all the necessary activities to make sure the event passed the way it should. All the jumpers signed statements that they were jumping at their own risk and were informed about weather conditions in Zvornik today," a statement said late on Sunday.

After the body has been recovered and an investigation carried out, the cause of death will be known, the Zvornik municipality said, adding that the events planned for today as part of the Zvornik Summer had been postponed.
