Djindjic posthumously decorated by Montenegrin president

Presenting the honor to Djindjic's widow Ruzica Djindjic in the Montenegrin embassy in Belgrade on Tuesday, Vujanovic said that the former prime minister, assassinated in 2003, "invested much of his energy and enthusiasm in good relations between the two countries."

"I knew him personally and I cooperated with him while I was prime minister. I had the honour, the pleasure and the privilege of building good relations between Montenegro and Serbia with him," Vujanovic said.

"I am very happy about this decoration because it is never too late for the right things. It comes 12 years after the murder of Zoran Djindjic, but every posthumous decoration affirms that everything he did in his lifetime was right," Ruzica Djindjic said.

The Montenegrin president signed a decree decorating Djindjic on May 29.
