RIJEKA A memorial plate inscribed in both Croatian and Macedonian has been broken in the town of Rijeka in Croatia. The memorial was dedicated to Andreja Petkovic - a poet, educator, linguist and diplomat, who hailed from Veles in present-day Macedonia and served as the Russian consul in Rijeka from 1873 until 1892.
