Serbia has 107 registered political parties at the start of 2016, the data of the Register of Political Parties shows.

Serbia's registered political party count reaches 107

A total of seven new parties have been entered into the register during 2015.

They include Slovaks Forward!, the Popular Movement Drina-Dinara-Dunav (NPDDD), the Serb Movement Dveri (SNP), Nenad Popovic's Serb People's Party (SNP), the Republican Party and the Alternative for Change - representing Hungarian and Albanian ethnic minorities, respectively.

Before the current system of registration was introduced in 2009, Serbia had around 600 parties.

The minimum number of signatures of adult citizens of Serbia needed to form a new party is 10,000. When it comes to parties of ethnic minorities, this number is 1,000.
