SNS official discusses new cabinet, S. Stream

This was Mihajlović's response when asked whether the SNS plans to take the most important portfolios in the future government, including finance, police, economy, and justice.

"We will first discuss the program of the new government with potential coalition partners, as well as reform goals with clear deadlines. I expect official talks to start next week," she told the daily Večernje Novosti in an interview.

Mihajlović stressed that the decision about coalition partners will be made by the party, but added that she considered participation of ethnic minority parties to be very important, so they could use the system's institutions to fight for their political and cultural rights.

Mihajlović headed the SNS election list for the local elections in the city of Belgrade, held along the parliamentary ballot on March 16. Asked about her "personal ambitions" related to the job of Belgrade's mayor, she said that while the placement on the list represented "a great honor," her ambitions were "primarily linked to the energy area."

She also told the daily that one of the first tasks of the next cabinet will be to restructure the state-run natural gas enterprise Srbijagas.

Mihajlović said that the company reported losses of nearly RSD 50 billion in 2013 - "all because reforms were obstructed."

As for the South Stream pipeline, Mihajlović said her ministry "did its part of the job a long time ago" when it came to adoption of the legislation related to the projects, and added that she believes "the main work has been done, while the state institutions of Serbia and their Russian partners will soon in a dialogue solve the manner in which it will be financed."

"Of course," noted Mihajlović," the issue of state guarantees would not even be raised today if financial restructuring of Srbijagas took place in time, because that company would be profitable now and guarantees would not be necessary. We are dedicated to this project, and the reason for delays is not on the Serbian side, it is mostly a matter of relations between Russia and the EU."
