Officials of the Chinese and Serbian army general Staffs signed an agreement on a Chinese donation to the Serbian Army. The donation is worth EUR 500,000, and will come in IT and office equipment, it has been announced. Chinese deputy army chief in Serbia After signing the agreement, Chinese Army Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lt. Gen. Ma Xiaotian and his Serbian counterpart Lt. Gen. Mladen Cirkovic, agreed that the already good cooperation between the two armies could be further improved. Cirkovic said Serbian Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac planned a visit to China in the near future, and added that while in Serbia, the Chinese delegation would get more closely acquainted with the special and anti-aircraft units of the Serbian army. Cirkovic added that he conferred with his Chinese counterpart on “a possible joint participation in one of the UN peacekeeping missions”. Ma Xiaotian recalled that the presidents of Serbia and China signed an agreement on strategic partnership last year. Good relations between the two armies will contribute to a better understanding between the two countries, said the deputy chief of General Staff of the Chinese Army. The two generals also pointed to the importance of exchange of high-level official visits and expressed readiness to continue such practice in the future. After signing the agreement, Chinese Army Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lt. Gen. Ma Xiaotian and his Serbian counterpart Lt. Gen. Mladen Ćirković, agreed that the already good cooperation between the two armies could be further improved.
