Ljajić, Ugljanin announce cooperation

The Forum of Sandzak MPs was formed on Wednesday in the Serbian in parliament in Belgrade. Its founders said that it would not be the only form of cooperation between the two biggest Sandzak political parties - the Sandzak Democratic Party of Rasim Ljajic and the Bosniak List for a European Sandzak coalition, led by Sulejman Ugljanin. Ljajic, Ugljanin announce cooperation The two political entities will cooperate on all issues of common interest, Ugljanin and Ljajic confirmed for Tanjug. Both men are ministers in the current cabinet, but have a history of bitter political rivalry on the local level. "We will cooperate on all questions where there are concurring stands and common interests," said Ljajic. Ugljanin believes that the two parties are bound to cooperate on the grounds of their elections platforms and also their results. MPs of the two Sandzak parties held their first joint news conference. They announced that they have formed the forum with the objective of acting jointly on improving the status of this region in southwestern Serbia. It is the joint interest of the two parties to secure, before the law on regional development is passed, that the Serbian government guarantees that the six Sandzak municipalities will be united into one statistical region, irrespective of how that region will be called, they said.
