Valjevo gets heating plant

Western Serbian town of Valjevo has seen the start of construction works on a heating plant worth EUR 13mn.

Valjevo gets heating plant

White said that since 2001 EAR invested nearly EUR 1bn in the Serbian energy infrastructure, EUR 450mn of which in heating sector, the government said in a press release.

According to him, apart from Valjevo, heating plants are being built in Čačak, Užice, Subotica and Pančevo.

White noted that EAR will invest EUR 3.8mn in the plant while the rest will be provided by the municipal budget and from commercial bank loans.

Thanks to a Czech government donation, Kolubara 2 heating pipe will be reconstructed and a new heating pipe from Kolubara 2 to the city centre will be built.

The first phase of the heating plant should be complete by the beginning of the heating season in October this year.
