Amended charges in Đinđić case submitted

Lawyer of former Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic’s mother and sister Srdja Popovic has submitted amended charges against Nebojsa Covic and Velimir Ilic. Analyses of Ilic and Covic’s public statements given in the last month, after the Djindjic family lawyer had accused them in media of being involved in the assassination and after former PM’s mother and sister had filed the charges, have been added to the charges. Amended charges in Djindjic case submitted Organized Crime Prosecutor Miljko Radisavljevic has confirmed that the Organized Crime Prosecution has received the amended charges. He added that the amended charges would be discussed and stressed that the prosecution was investigating the allegations from the charges filed on behalf of Mila Djindjic and Gordana Filipovic-Djindjic by Popovic on December 11, 2011. According to Popovic, Ilic and Covic’s statements, bearing in mind that they “stated a strange amount of lies”, have only intensified suspicion against them. “In those statements they contradict each other, they contradict themselves or they give completely illogical statements that are contrary to some facts determined by court,” the lawyer wrote in an article published on pescanik.net. In the article published in mid-December, Popovic published the criminal charges against the two politicians, accusing them of “failing to report preparations for an attack on the constitutional order”. Covic is accused of “inciting to murder of top state representatives together with the persons who have already been convicted of the crime”. Ilic is accused of “recruiting accomplices after learning that Ulemek was preparing an attack on the constitutional order”. Amended charges in Đinđić case submitted

Organized Crime Prosecutor Miljko Radisavljević has confirmed that the Organized Crime Prosecution has received the amended charges. He added that the amended charges would be discussed and stressed that the prosecution was investigating the allegations from the charges filed on behalf of Mila Đinđić and Gordana Filipović-Đinđić by Popović on December 11, 2011.

According to Popović, Ilić and Čović’s statements, bearing in mind that they “stated a strange amount of lies”, have only intensified suspicion against them.
