The connection between the hooligans and extreme fan groups and the organized crime are going to be investigated, said Prosecutor for organized crime. "First and foremost, we have to determine who provides the funding and to what end to these thugs, whose behavior is very similar to that of street gangs," said the Prosecutor Miljko Radisavljevic. "Links probed between hooligans, organized crime" Radisavljevic is attending the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention against Transnational Organized Crime held in Vienna. During the event, the Serbian prosecutor for organized crime analyzed the last week's soccer match incident in Genoa with Italian prosecutor in the Anti-Mafia Investigations Directorate Piero Grasso, when the Serbian hooligans, who tried to pass as Serbian national team supporters, caused great riots. Radisavljevic talked with his Italian colleague about the criminal proceedings conducted in Serbia and Italy against members of several international organized crime groups, the most important ones being those which deal with drug trafficking. The prosecutor also met with representatives of the Mexican and Brazilian delegations, with whom he spoke about the experiences Serbia and these countries had in the fight against organized crime. According to him, the delegations of Brazil and Mexico have expressed particular interest in the experiences and results of the Serbian Prosecutor's Office with the seizure of assets derived from crime, use of specific ways of gathering evidence and protection of participants in criminal proceedings, and agreed on concrete forms of cooperation.
