B92 has learned that the Serbian police (MUP) have a seven-member crime group in custody today, including a former bank owner. The man was identified as Tomislav Djordjevic, formerly the owner of Meridian Bank. Former bank owner arrested The group is suspected of illegally gaining 60 percent of the value of the Ribarsko Gazdinstvo company, in the process of its privatization. This was in breach of a contract signed with the Privatization Agency. The prosecution believes that the group in this way stole over EUR 2.5mn, incurring damages to the Shareholder Fund of the Republic of Serbia.
