Serbian police (MUP) found stolen weapons buried in the woods close to a highway near Belgrade, Interior Minister Ivica Dačić said.

Serbian police (MUP) found stolen weapons buried in the woods close to a highway near Belgrade, Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said. Dacic said that four automatic rifles, two snipers and a machinegun rifle near the Ikarbus company factory grounds. Police find buried stolen weapons He explained that the weapons were found based on "operative information", adding that it is expected that members of the Zemun Clan hid the weapons there. Dacic said that the serial numbers on the two machineguns match the numbers of those that were stolen from a Belgrade police station on October 5, 2000. The minister added that the serial numbers on the other firearms were scratched off, but added that they would be analyzed to see if any crimes were committed using these weapons. Dacic said that the operation of searching the location began on Tuesday and that it will be continued in the coming days, adding that the weapons were found about 200 meters from the highway and about 500 meters from the Ikarbus factory. The Zemun Clan organized crime gang committed a series of serious crimes, including murder, and was involved in the assassination of Serbian PM Zoran Djindjic.
