Serbian currency slide halted

The Serbian dinar (RSD) has strengthen against the euro by 0.07 percent today, setting the official middle exchange rate at RSD 103.8963.

The Serbian dinar (RSD) has strengthen against the euro by 0.07 percent today, setting the official middle exchange rate at RSD 103.8963. This came following an intervention of the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) on Tuesday, when the central bank sold EUR 20mn at the inter-bank market in order to alleviate excessive daily volatility of the exchange rate. Serbian currency slide halted Since the beginning of 2010, the NBS has sold the total of EUR 1.248bn. In 2010, the dinar was the strongest on January 4, when the official middle exchange rate was RSD 95.9679 for one euro, and the weakest on June 21 when it was RSD 103.9678.
