The Serbian 2009 budget is both restrictive and encouraging, Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic said on Friday during a meeting with bankers. The restrictive aspect primarily refers to the state sector and encouragement to economic development, Cvetkovic said told a gathering dedicated to operationa under the conditions of the international financial crisis. Bank representatives voiced their satisfaction with the adopted draft 2009 budget and added that the NBS measures had given positive results, voicing suggestions regarding the measures. They also reviewed the NBS measures, which should ensure the stability of the exchange rate and sufficient liquidity in the Serbian economy, the government said in a statement.
