The board of the Confederation of Free Trade Unions opposes the government’s free share distribution proposal. They explained that they had considerable objections which they expect the Economy and Regional Development Minister Mladjan Dinkic to take into account when formulating the law’s final version. Trade unions oppose free share scheme The government adopted the draft law on the proposed distribution of EUR 1000 worth of free shares in the country’s private enterprises to every adult in Serbia at their last session, and passed it on for urgent parliamentary procedure. The confederation has stressed that if the government dismisses their objections, they will then deliver them to all parliamentary parties and members. In the event of the government and the parliament adopting the draft law in its current form, the confederation has announced that it will take more radical measures and will call on citizens to join them. “The existing draft law lacks systematization,and consultations between the unions and ministers were very brief and were not a quality public debate,“ a statement claims.
