Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) leader Ivica Dacic said on Saturday that there was still no parliamentary majority that could form the new government. He met with Republic of Srpska (RS) President Milorad Dodik in Banja Luka on Saturday. Still no parliamentary majority, SPS leader says “The political issues we are discussing today are very important. The issue of relations with the RS is a very important issue for me. I will certainly not join the government which will say that the RS is a genocidal creation,” Dacic told reporters after the meeting with Dodik. When asked about a possibility of the SPS forming the government with the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), he said that the Socialists were discussing the new government with the Democrats but that they would talk to other political parties if the talks with them failed so the country would not have to organize new elections. “There is no parliamentary majority at the moment,” Dacic stressed. Dodik stressed that the RS was against Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) in the future Serbian government, pointing out that it would complicate the cooperation between the Serbian and RS institutions. “We do not need those who speak badly of the RS and this is my message to everybody else. We will distance ourselves from such policy of the government without hesitation. If Serbia needs this, then it can take (LDP leader) Ceda Jovanovic,” the RS president concluded.
