For me, the most important thing is that we all sat at the same table, including Kosovo as a special guest, Fule said after the opening of the ministerial meeting of the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) member countries.

After addressing the participants, Fule told reporters that the discussions at the meeting were very open, according to the Macedonian news agency MIA.

Fule said that the agreement between Belgrade and Priština reached on April 19 and its implementation show that even big issues can be resolved if there is will, commitment and some EU mediation.

Fule said that this should be an inspiration to all leaders in the Western Balkans, adding that 2013 should be a good year for enlargement.

Despite all the stories about the difficulties within the EU, the Union is quite open for enlargement, said the European commissioner, adding that it now rests with the countries in the region to take advantage of the opportunity, he said.

When asked which country is closer to membership in the EU - Macedonia or Serbia - Fule said that the answer to this will be given by EU member-states in June.
