The association decided to sue Jovanović after his statements made over the weekend that the Serb entity in Bosnia "a creation based on genocide".

The association's president Nedeljko Mitrović stated that the suit would be filed to the competent court in Belgrade because Jovanović offended all Serb victims from the Second World War and from the Defensive-Patriotic War.

Mitrović called on the Serbian parliament to condemn and publicly distance itself from Jovanović's statement since the LDP is a parliamentary party in Serbia.

Because of the statement, Jovanović was also criticized by the cabinet of RS President Milorad Dodik, with the remark that Jovanović was either "trying to win voters or to be in his mentors' good books" by making false statements about the RS and its creation.

During a session of the LDP Main Board on Saturday, Jovanović said that RS was constituted on the basis of genocide.
