The first Fiat Punto 188, of the pilot 35 vehicles under that Italian brand, rolled out of the Zastava factory in Kragujevac. As President of the Fiat Automobiles Serbia Giovanni de Filippis announced, initially a total of 20 cars would be assembled in the factory each day, and added that 500 workers had been engaged to ensure that.
