BELGRADE The Organized Crime Prosecution has requested information about communication between top state officials and a member of a drug gang from the police. Organized Crime Prosecutor Miljko Radisavljevic told B92 that the Prosecution had requested the information in order to determine what kind of ties and contacts existed among some state officials and Rodoljub Radulovic, a member of drug lord Darko Saric’s gang. Prosecution probes officials’ ties with drug gang member “The Organized Crime Prosecution today submitted a request to collect the necessary information to the Police Directorate in connection with the Criminal Investigations Police Administration’s report on meetings and communication between certain state officials and employees and Rodoljub Radulovic. We asked the police to take all necessary actions and measures in order to determine whether information that represent official secret were disclosed,” the prosecutor explained. According to Radisavljevic, the Prosecution request “an analysis of materials collected with secret surveillance and to determine if there was any change in the communication of people subjected to surveillance after those contacts”. “This is the material that was submitted by the Security Information Agency and the Criminal Investigations Police Administration to the court and it was collected on the order of an investigative judge in charge of the surveillance. The material is a part of court records and it was used in investigations so far and ongoing investigations. It was proposed in an indictment against Rodoljub Radulovic, that was confirmed on February 1, that the material be used as evidence at the main hearing,” he explained. Radisavljevic said that the Prosecution also requested to determine which information in the Saric case had been known to certain state officials and employees, how they obtained the information, whether they had proper authorization and if they did not, who allowed them to have access to it. Serbian PM Ivica Dacic confirmed on Saturday he had met with Radulovic and accused the police of failing to inform him that Radulovic was a member of Saric’s gang. He said that the information was kept in order to be used for blackmail later. He added that there was no reason to call early parliamentary elections. Criminal Investigations Police Administration’s report contains information about ties between former Dacic’s Chief of Staff Branko Lazarevic with some members of Saric’s gang. Dacic said it was a “setup” while Lazarevic denied the allegations. Miljko Radisavljevic (B92, file) B92
