The political will of Serbians will be represented by MPs from 45 parties, who will hold seats in the country's new parliament over the next four years.

BELGRADE The political will of Serbians will be represented by MPs from 45 parties, who will hold seats in the country's new parliament over the next four years. The political parties in question won the parliamentary seats in the May 6 elections, running either alone, or as part of pre-election alliances. As many as 45 parties represented in parliament Tanjug news agency noted in its report on Monday that India - a country whose population is 100 times larger than that of Serbia - has 36 parties in its parliament. Serbia also holds a record compared to EU member-states, and some African and Asian countries. In terms of the number of parties represented in parliament, Serbia has also outdone all of the countries that emerged after the breakup of Yugoslavia - a list on which Macedonia comes in second with 39 parties.
