Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) presidential candidate Tomislav Nikolic has said he will conduct a review of major privatizations if he wins the elections. Nikolic said late on Wednesday that he wanted to build a regulated state in which the citizens would pay taxes and the state would pay back everything it owed the citizens. SNS leader: I will review controversial privatizations "The EU ordered the Serbian government to review 24 major privatizations. These are 24 biggest frauds in Serbia. I am not going to stop here, because I owe that to 70 percent of the workers who created those factories and in the end lost their jobs," he stressed. At a pre-election rally staged by the coalition Let's Get Serbia Moving in the central Serbian town of Kraljevo, the SNS leader noted that 75 percent of Serbian citizens lived worse than four years ago. He said that if he won he wanted to take the citizens into the EU and added that Serbia had met all the conditions for the EU he knows of. “If giving up Kosovo and Metohija is one of the conditions, neither he nor his associates will fulfill it, because the citizens do not want that,” Nikolic pointed out. He told the citizens, who, as he put it, are being threatened that he would fight a war against poverty and crime. Tomislav Nikolic is seen at the rally in Kraljevo (Tanjug) Tanjug
