A military investigation has shown that the Serbian army and the Military Security Agency had not been hiding war crimes indictee Ratko Mladic. This is according to Serbia's Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac. Army was not hiding Mladic, says minister "The final information about the ties between Ratko Mladic and the former Yugoslav army will be ready soon and we will have the final position of our agency regarding how he retired, where he was hiding and who he was in contact with in the Serbian army," Sutanovac said in an interview for Radio Free Europe. The minister specified this was an internal investigation within the Defense Ministry. "It is headed by the Military Security Agency. It is gathering information that is available and that will be very relevant. We really have no reason to hide anything," Sutanovac said. According to him, all those who have been accusing the military of helping to hide Mladic for years will be disappointed, because this is simply not true. Asked if the investigation reached as far back as 2002, when the Yugoslav army was still in existence, the minister said he expected everything to be cleared up, and that he personally believed that "the service did not participate in this in any way, or any organized segments of any service."
