Joint activities undertaken by Serbia and EU countries regarding false asylum seekers are yielding results, Deputy PM and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic says. He made the comments on Monday following his meeting with OSCE Secretary General Marc Perrin de Brichambaut. IM says number of fake asylum seekers down Dacic said that the data on reduced number of asylum seekers Serbia received from the EU member-countries was "encouraging". He specified that in Sweden there were 700 asylum seekers recorded through May 10 - "considerably fewer than earlier when the number stood at between 6,000 and 7,000". He said that Germany recorded 200 false asylum seekers, whereas the previous number was 1,200. “It is the lowest number of asylum seekers from 2004 onwards,” Dacic added.
