DSS sues Human Rights MInistry official

Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) has pressed charges against Human and Minority Rights Ministry State Secretary Marko Karadžić for slandering the party.

Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) has pressed charges against Human and Minority Rights Ministry State Secretary Marko Karadzic for slandering the party. DSS also demanded that prime minister remove him from the ministry position. DSS sues Human Rights MInistry official "Karadzic said that DSS was a neo-Nazi organization for criticizing the Vojvodina statute” during an appearance on B92, the party stated. The party is calling on Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic to relieve the state secretary of his duty “because his statements are embarrassing for one of the most important state institutions, the government.” Karadzic criticized DSS’s position on the statute of Vojvodina. He said that he would respond to the court subpoena and that DSS should apologized to non-Serbian citizens of the country for treating them like second-class citizens. “It is a good thing that DSS will have an opportunity to apologize to these citizens before the court. It is unacceptable in a civil society for a parliamentary party to promote ideas according to which members of one nationlity are above citizens of other nationalities,” he said.
