Prime Minister Mirko Cvetkovic said that "proposals and suggestions" coming from LSV have been accepted. The proposed amendments concern a working draft of the law on the transfer of powers to Vojvodina. PM accepts Vojvodina party amendments Cvetkovic said after meeting with League of Vojvodina Social Democrats (LSV) leader Nenad Canak in Belgrade on Wednesday that he expects that the draft law would be adopted by his cabinet tomorrow and sent to parliament. The prime minister also said he expected that this legislation would receive the majority backing of MPs. Earlier in the day, the party representatives said that the draft "will not be acceptable without the amendments". The LSV amendments insist that authority and other questions of importance for Vojvodina’s position defined by this law cannot be "scaled down" by decrees of other state laws. The party also said it that Novi Sad must be "the capital city of Vojvodina", and that the province’s institutions "must control the public companies that it has founded". The law on transfer of powers must be sent to parliament along with the draft Vojvodina statute itself.
