Kosovo Police (KPS) will on Sunday strengthen its presence in northern Kosovo due to the Serbian presidential run-off, KPS regional spokesman Besim Hoti says. Hoti told Tanjug on Saturday that KPS members would be present in the vicinity of the polling stations, as it was the case on May 6, so as to ensure the preservation of public order and peace. Kosovo police step up security ahead of Serbian polls He added that 37 polling stations would be open at 13 locations in northern Kosovo and the Kosovska Mitrovica District, and that the KPS would cover all locations, at which OSCE staff would run the voting process. The election materials for the second round of the Serbian presidential election arrived in Kosovo several days ago, and representatives of the OSCE are carrying out the electoral activities ahead of the Sunday's poll. The citizens will have an opportunity to cast their ballot in 17 municipalities, in which a total of 90 polling stations will be open. According to the OSCE data, around 109,000 people are entitled to vote in the run-off election. The election will again be administered solely by the OSCE representatives, around 500 of them, who will after the close of polls transport the election materials to the count centers in the southern Serbian towns of Raska and Vranje.
