The Vojvodina assembly regulations committee has changed the technical errors in the draft Vojvodina statute, it was announced. The document was sent back into parliamentary procedures, after being withdrawn on Tuesday. Vojvodina statute back in parliament In the technical corrections, Novi Sad is defined as the chief administrative center of Vojvodina. Even though the Vojvodina League of Social Democrats (LSV) did not attend the meeting of the committee at which the changes were made, LSV deputy leader Bojan Kostres told B92 that his party is content with the changes. “The text itself which was altered and which I saw, is acceptable for us because it kept the formulation that Novi Sad is the capital city of the autonomous province of Vojvodina. There are changes in the order of words, but it is clear that if article 10 speaks of the capital city of the autonomous province of Vojvodina, Novi Sad is defined as the capital city and that was very important to us,” Kostres aid. According to State Administration Minister Milan Markovic, the statute was pulled from parliamentary procedures because of “technical errors”, since the first article stated that Novi Sad is the capital city, while the fourth stated that it was the chief administrative center. Vojvodina Assembly Speaker Sandor Egresi said that he would be addressing a news conference regarding the "technical changes".
