Boris Tadic says that the policy of preserving the country’s integrity and European integration will prevail. The Serbian president assured that such policies would win out “in the second half of the elections.” Tadic expects “second half” victory “The majority of the citizens will vote for these policies, because they are of vital interest, and these policies will have a majority in parliament,” the president predicted. He said that all parties that had led pro-European policies and policies of preserving Serbia’s integrity over Kosovo were welcome, adding that discussions of a coalition between his Democratic Party (DS), G17 Plus and several other parties were in their final phase. Tadic said that his deputies were leading negotiations, and that the future government would function according to the five principles that had been the staple of his policies thus far. “Those parties that gave up on these policies in the second round of the presidential elections by remaining neutral – Vojislav Kostunica’s Democratic Party of Serbia, Velimir Ilic’s New Serbia and Cedomir Jovanovic’s Liberal Democratic Party – can always return to them, because the door is open,” the president said. Yesterday, an agreement was reached for the formation of an election list between the DS, G17 Plus, and the Sandzak Democratic Party, along with officials of the Serbian Renewal Movement and the Vojvodina League of Social Democrats. The list of 250 candidates will be submitted to the Republic Electoral Commission as early as this week, under the name, “For a European Serbia—Boris Tadic."
