SNS: New coalition confirmed in Novi Sad

The Novi Sad branch of the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) on Monday evening announced a new majority had been formed in the Novi Sad town assembly.

NOVI SAD The Novi Sad branch of the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) on Monday evening announced a new majority had been formed in the Novi Sad town assembly. It comprises 42 councilors from five groups, Milos Vucevic of the SNS confirmed. SNS: New coalition confirmed in Novi Sad The new majority will by made by members of: "Let's Get Novi Sad Moving - Tomislav Nikolic", the group centered around the Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS), "All for Novi Sad", which comprises members of the Serbian Renewal Movement (SPO) and the Roma Democratic Party, "Novi Sad Now", including members of the Novi Sad Dveri Movement and one member of None of Our Answers, and the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS). Vucevic said at a press conference which presented a coalition agreement on joint political goals that at the moment no one can say that the current city authorities have support in the assembly. “We have signed a coalition agreement which is a basic precondition for the beginning of any kind of cooperation,” he said, adding that in four years the current authorities never had a similar document which could show the principles of their work. Commenting the decision of Aleksandra Jerkov, president of the Novi Sad City Assembly, to schedule a session for September 12, he said that the new majority in the assembly will wait for the date if lawyers confirm that the session will be in line with the law.
