EULEX takes over investigation into murder of Serb

The probe into <a href="http://www.b92.net/eng/news/crimes-article.php?yyyy=2011&mm=10&dd=20&nav_id=76946" class="text-link" target= "_blank">murder of one and wounding of two Serbs </a>in the village of Dobruša has been taken over by EULEX, Minister for Kosovo Goran Bogdanović says.

The probe into murder of one and wounding of two Serbs in the village of Dobrusa has been taken over by EULEX, Minister for Kosovo Goran Bogdanovic says. “The murder of one Serb and wounding of another two near Pec is one more confirmation that the events in northern Kosovo are directly reflecting on the situation south of the Ibar River,” he told Radio Television of Serbia (RTS). Kosovo President Atifete Jahjaga has condemned the murder and wounding of the Serbs. “President’s office points out that the act strains relations between people in Kosovo and affects stability and calls on the competent institutions to conduct an investigation and bring the perpetrator to justice,” Jahjaga’s cabinet has said. Kosovo’s government has also condemned the attack and gave condolences to the victim’s family. An Albanian suspected of murdering Komadina and and injuring the two Serbs surrendered to the Kosovo police Friday morning, Kosovo police Spokesman Xhavit Ibraj has said. Ibraj noted that the Albanian had been hiding in the municipality of Istok and that he had turned himself in around 8:00 CET. “The Kosovo Albanian was detained,” the spokesman stressed, adding that he was from the village of Lukavac near Istok, but that he could not disclose his name because of the ongoing investigation. The spokesman stated that the possible motive for murder was property issue related to a field in the village of Dobrusa which the Serbs wanted to check on but, however, added that the police would investigate all details of the incident. The two wounded men were transported to the hospital in northern Kosovska Mitrovica and they are not in life-threatening condition.
