Serbia's tennnis team qualified for the Davis Cup quarterfinal in the matches against Sweden in the World Group first round in Nis, southern Serbia, on Sunday. Janko Tipsarevic brought the crucial point to Serbia as he beat Michael Ryderstedt, 6-2, 7-6 (7-5), 7-5. In the quarterfinal, Serbia will play against the Czech team which ousted Italy in the World Group first round, 4-0.

After the Cup's second day, Serbia's national team had the upper hand over Sweden with the score at 2-1, thanks to the triumphs in singles achieved by Janko Tipsarević in the match against Filip Prpic and Viktor Troicki in the match against Ryderstedt.

The team played against Sweden without Novak Đoković.
