The Serbian government has requested from the UN to conduct an emergency investigation into the incident at the Jarinje checkpoint on Tuesday. “The government has also requested from EULEX and KFOR to operate in accordance with status neutral stipulations of the UN Security Council Resolution 1244,” said Serbian government’s Media Office Chief Milovoje Mihaljovic. Serbian govt. calls on UN to investigate Jarinje incident “The Serbian government is determined to overcome tensions through dialogue and respect of the international law and interests of the Serbian population in northern Kosovo,” he stressed at a government meeting. Mihaljovic repeated that the Serbian government was committed to the dialogue and that the announced visit of EU facilitator Robert Cooper would encourage the talks.
