African Union leaders are headed to Libya in an effort to resolve the political crisis between leader Muammar Gaddafi and rebels attempting to overthrow him.

African Union leaders are headed to Libya in an effort to resolve the political crisis between leader Muammar Gaddafi and rebels attempting to overthrow him. South African President Jacob Zuma flies to Tripoli on Sunday, where he will be joined by the presidents of Mauritania, Mali and Congo. Heavy fighting continues on at least two fronts in Libya.

Pro-Gaddafi forces continued shelling the eastern town of Ajdabiya Sunday.

Witnesses reported hearing shooting and artillery fire and seeing large plumes of smoke. At least 11 people were killed in fighting there Saturday.
