First EC expert mission due to arrive

The first expert mission of the European Commission (EC) in charge of verifying Serbia's answers to the EC questionnaire is due to arrive in Belgrade on Monday.

The first expert mission of the European Commission (EC) in charge of verifying Serbia's answers to the EC questionnaire is due to arrive in Belgrade on Monday. Belgrade delivered the answers to Brussels on January 31. First EC expert mission due to arrive Director of the Government Office for European Integration Milica Delevic told Tanjug earlier that the EC expert group will inspect the situation in the fields of judiciary, police and fight against organized crime and corruption. In a statement for Tanjug, Advisor for EU Integration Ksenija Milenkovic pointed out that this and other visits of expert groups to Serbia will be aimed at removing all flaws noticed in the implementation of reforms by summer the latest so that the EC could pass a positive assessment regarding Serbia's EU candidacy application. According to Milenkovic, the EC missions will hold a number of meetings both with competent officials and with all independent institutions, representatives of civil society and all other bodies that could provide relevant information on adopted laws and their implementation.
