LDP hopes for Serbia-EU compromise on Kosovo

Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) leader Cedomir Jovanovic says any kind of compromise with the EU over the resolution on Kosovo would be good. He also expressed expectation that it will be reached. LDP hopes for Serbia-EU compromise on Kosovo Jovanovic stated in Mirosevce, a village near Leskovac, southern Serbia, that it was clear from the very first moment that Serbia has nothing to ask from the UN General Assembly since it cannot provide a solution to the issue that the country is faced with. He reiterated that the LDP will open the issue of responsibility of Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic for, as he put it, failure of the Kosovo policy. “For a month, we have been in a whirl which is totally pointless and could not bring about a positive outcome for Serbia,” he said, adding that Jeremic is to be blamed for this. “We will open the question of Jeremic's responsibility in the parliament, not because Kosovo declared independence or because Serbia is trying to resolve the problem it is faced with, but for the fact that he did things in a wrong way,” Jovanovic pointed out.
