Tourists from Serbia are welcome in Croatia, says the country's Tourism Minister Damir Bajs. Bajs also claims that an increase in number of Serbian tourists traveling to Croatia has been recorded. Croatia: Serbian tourists are welcome “Croatia is a quality, hospitable and safe tourist destination, which is closest to the tourists from Serbia and they can get to the sea in six hours,” Bajs was quoted as saying. He also and added that about 90,000 tourists from Serbia had been to Croatia last year and that the number of nights had been increased by 15 percent. “Croatia’s presentation at the Tourism Fair shows that Croatia intends to invest in the Serbian market and that the tourists from Serbia are welcome,” the Croatian tourism minister said. Speaking during the Tourism Fair in Belgrade, he pointed out that Croatian hoteliers and tourists agencies, which would be signing contracts on cooperation with Serbian tourist agencies, were also participating in the fair. Bajs said that an “increasing number of Croatian tourists was visiting Serbia”, and stated that it was mostly “business tourism”.
