Ruling DS-led For a European Serbia MP group chief Nada Kolundzija said that Serbia is a member of the Partnership for Peace, and that "for now, that is a sufficient for of cooperation with NATO". "NATO attacks were big mistake" She said that entrance into NATO is not a current topic, but that it will become important in the search for security solutions and that citizens will be voting on it in a referendum. Opposition Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) official Dragan Sormaz reminded that the parliament passed a decision on military neutrality which was accepted by all parties, adding that it was a good move. He said that Serbia can be safe without joining any military alliance. Opposition New Serbia (NS) official Miroslav Markicevic said that military neutrality is best for the country, and that the citizens should decide in a referendum if the question of entering NATO ever arose. Opposition SNS-led Forward Serbia MP group leader Tomislav Nikolic said that Serbia should never be in NATO or any other military alliance. Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac (DS) stated that the NATO-led bombing of Serbia was "a big mistake made by the NATO alliance and that it should have never happened". He said that his opinion on the matter "has not changed since 1999", adding that that the goals NATO wanted to achieve "could have been achieved with a lot less energy and sparing the citizens from what happened". “At the end of the second millennium and two centuries it was completely unnatural for the people, I mean all the citizens of then Yugoslavia, to be subjected to a bombing,” Sutanovac said. Also in Belgrade this Monday, then and now ruling Socialists (SPS) gathered for a conference to mark the anniversary.
