Kosovo Minister Goran Bogdanovic has conveyed Belgrade's willingness to cooperate with EULEX within a status neutral framework, and with the UN's participation. Bogdanovic and EULEX Chief Yves de Kermabon discussed problems linked to power supply, the acquittal of bus bomber suspect Florim Ejupi, the lack of free circulation in Kosovo, and the ban on Serbian officials entering the province, read a statement. Bogdanovic meets with EULEX chief The minister said that Serbia was willing to continue and intensify cooperation, adding that he expected the international civilian presence in Kosovo to "find permanent solutions to the problems threatening the Serb and non-Albanian population." Bogdanovic's meeting with de Kermabon was part of a dialogue that was institutionally defined by the report approved by the UN Security Council in November 2008, outlining the implementation of the six-point plan, added the statement. EULEX spokesman Nicholas Hawton said that Kermabon would be meeting with Justice, Interior and Finance Ministry officials to discuss police, court and customs issues in Kosovo. Earlier, the EULEX chief met with Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu to submit a report to him ahead of his meeting with Serbian officials, according to local media in Kosovo. Kermabon will be meeting with three Serbian ministers to discuss the issue of the 300+ Serb police officers in Kosovo who have been boycotting the provincial police for over a year, EULEX’s Interpol membership, legislation in northern Kosovo, as well as information on border crossings in the north, according to daily Koha Ditore. In an interview for the documentary film “Independence in Four Seasons”, publicized today by the daily, de Kermabon said that northern Kosovo needed an interim solution as EULEX could not work there in the same way it did in the south. “Our mission is to have a united country with an equal order, equal laws and common customs zone,” the EULEX chief said. He added that the EU mission in Kosovo could not work miracles, but that after two years of work the rule of law in Kosovo would be better than it is now. Yves de Kermabon (FoNet)
